GUEST CABINS

The train can accommodate maximum 88 passengers in one day, there are 43 cabins in total - 1 presidential suite, 4 suites, 18 junior and 20 deluxe. The presidential suite can accommodate up to 4 traveler and in all other cabins only 2 passengers can accommodate.

DINING AND BAR

There are two restaurants on board, Peacock and Rang mahal they are multi cuisine restaurants including Chinese, Continental, Indian and Mewari cuisine. The safari bar has great variety of wine, spirits and beer from the well known brands as well as the house brands, and it is also a great place to know your fellow visitors over aa drink and light snacks.

LOUNGE, OBSERVATION CAR AND TREASURE CHEST

Maharaja club is filled with luxury sitting on the relaxing chairs guest can drool over the landscape. It is adjoining with the library, individual bar and a souvenir shop and an extraordinary place with laid-lower back ambience to meet everyone and gather memories.

MAHARAJAS TRANSPORT

Transportation for the off train tours at each vacation spot comes complimentary. Deluxe coaches are arranged for the guest who accommodate in Deluxe Cabins and Junior suites for sightseeing. All the 6 journeys offered by Maharaja Express train are all inclusive of accommodation in double sharing or twin sharing cabins, all the 3 meals managed by Maharaja Express, and in house brand is available in wines & spirits, butler service is available and guided tour to all the excursions.

EXCLUSIONS

Taxes, insurance, laundry, video & still camera, gratuities, telephone calls, , arrival and departure fees, alcoholic beverages outside the train,are excluded from the price of Maharaja Express journeys.

BAGS ALLOWANCE

It is recommended to follow the global airline rules for luggage weight. Bags that would accumulate less space is highly recommended like tender-crowned bags.

SPECIAL NUTRUTUIONAL REQUIREMENT

If there is any requirement in respect to meals, please inform us at the point of booking so that the onboard staff can serve you culinary request.

PORTERS

In order to assist with your luggage, porters have been appointed at the point of arrival and departure.

BUTLERS

Butler service is available 24*7 for the onboards guest. Each cabin has a personal butler.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS/DISABLED PERSONS

Unfortunately there is no wheelchair facility available for disabled passengers on Maharaja Express. It is advisable that visitors with confined mobility need to be accompanied with disabled passenger.

GUIDES

During your journey all the off train tours will be accompanied by a professional English speaking guides. If there is any requirement of guides who know different language, please let us know at the time of train booking.

CREDITCARDS

AAll types of credit card like Visa, Amex and master card are accepted on train. Extra charges is applied on all the transactions that are made using credit or debit card.

VISAS

All the foreigner travellers are requested to keep all the travel documents and a valid visa (approved by Indian Missions abroad) with them. In case there is no valid visa, false or expired documents, foreign nationals will be deported.

PASSENGERS DOCUMENT

When we receive your full amount for your ticket, you will be issued with travel document. This file is given to each passenger with their name on it, 14 days prior to your adventure. All the documents given to you are very important and the passengers are requested to carry them on their journey.

CLOTHING AND TRAVEL ACCESSORIES

Summers: In SUMMERS it is advisable to wear lightweight cotton and linens.

Winters: In WINTERS it is advisable to wear heavy woollens , shawls

Wildlife safari: For Wildlife Safari you can wear Light clothes and wraps. Avoid bright colours try to go for earthy shades

On board: On board you can wear smart casual and comfortable clothes. Don’t forget our sunscreen, caps/hat and walking shoes.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Information about Indian currency: One Rupee= 100 Paisa

Notes are available for: Rs 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2000.

Coins are available for Rs 1, 2, 5 and 10.

Special facilities is provided on board regarding currency exchange, you can get in touch with our Guest Relations Manager on board for the same.

SPECIAL MEALS / MEDICAL CONDITIONS / DIETARY REQUIRMENTS

Passenger travelling on the train are requested to inform about their dietary requirements and any special meal they would like to be served at the point of booking so that the onboard staff can serve you culinary request.

We request all the travelers to carry your medicine if they are allergic to dirt, because you will be experiencing it while your trip for wild safaris.

BATH AND BED LINENS

For you to hold hygiene and cleanliness, traveller are requested to cooperate with the staff and let them do your linens, mattress and tub every day.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE GUESTS

We expect all the passengers to follow the time table given by Maharaja Express. IRTC is very punctual and it work on its timings. If you overlook any of the points, that is due to the irresponsibility of the traveller, and no alternative is provided in that case.

HOT WATER

You should turn on the geysers 20 mins before the usage for hot running water.

HAIR DRYERS

Hair dryers is available in all the bathrooms on board.

OFF TRAIN TOURS

It is to put in notice that almost all the off train tours may include long walks in steeped and rocky path. If the traveller has walking disabilities, he/she is ought to inform the officials at the time of booking.

However if a single visitor or group causes delay or is not willing to go for the excursion, Maharaja express is not entitled to any unused part of the excursion.

LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE

There is enough space in maharaja express for you luggage, there is a separate cabin for luggage plus you can keep it under your bed aswell. The dimensions below the dual bed is 915mm x 690 mm x 330 mm. And beneath the double bed is 1370 mm x 940 mm x 330 mm.

MAHRAJA TRAIN MANAGER

The train manager is available on board 24*7. You can contact him for any special question, request or problem.

PLACEMENT OF LUXURY TRAIN ON PLATFORMS

As the travellers de-board the train for the excursion or day trip, the train goes ahead for fuelling and watering. So if you would like to skip tour and live back in the train or come back early to the train , you have to contact the train manager and inform him in advance.

However, if you are planning to skip an tour and visit a relative, you need to put in notice of Train Manager.

Also if a traveller or crew person exceeds the limits or cause inconvenience to fellow travellers he/she will be asked to leave the tour.

PROFFESSIONAL NURSE ON BOARD

A professional nurse is available 24*7 on board for any medical emergency.

HEALTH

There is no specific medical condition that you have to take for Indian journey. If you are from Yellow Fever endemic country, you should get yellow Fever Vaccination done and get your certificate conforming to international fitness policies.

LAUNDRY

For the laundry facility on Maharaja Express contact your personal butler as he will let you know on which destination the services are available.

MOBILE PHONES

It is advised to keep your phone on silent mode so that it doesn’t create any disturbance for fellow traveller and even during the visit to monuments and palaces. The mobile network varies when the train is moving but improves when train on halt.

PHONE CALLS

All the cabins have a phone call facility. The train tariff does not include the cost of external phone calls.

ON-BOARD SAFE

An electronic safe is installed in every cabin. The train management is not responsible for any loss of valuables.

GROUP

All the staff members of Maharaja Express are trained excessively and our qualified to accommodate the different needs of the visitors. All the team members are English speaking.

MINIMUM TRAVELLER REQUIREMENT

All the 6 journey offered by the Maharaja Express need certain number of traveller to operate. If that number is not met you will be scheduled to new journey date or you will given refund. In this situation an indication is given 30 days in advance.

SPECIAL TOURS / EVENTS

An additional supplement will be charged on certain departures like Special events, signature tours and traveller lecturers.

CHARTERS

The Maharajas´ specific train can be chartered to company executives, individuals and companies for containing conferences, marriages and different events.
